Flipping through the images of Scandinavian interiors, you probably noticed that white color occurs very often. Yes, it really is the basis of most Scandinavian interiors.

The Scandinavian style originated in the northern countries of Europe, where the winters are long and gloomy. This formed a unique approach to design and lifestyle in general.

White color is as light and spacious as possible

The need to use daylight as much as possible led to the widespread use of white, because it reflects light as much as possible. Fewer active light sources are needed to illuminate a white room.

Still white really makes the room a bit more spacious. Even in small spaces, it helps to create a feeling of openness and airiness.

By the way, white is part of the Ukrainian design heritage as well. Most of the traditional Ukrainian houses were painted white both inside and outside. This, once again, proves our common roots and kinship with the peoples of Scandinavia.

White color is functional and durable

White is a blank canvas in the interior. It serves as an ideal background because it does not distract attention from the form and function of furniture and decorative items. Allows you to conveniently use accents in the decor.

White color is timeless. Designer fashion trends are changing. Colors come and go with trends. Pantone determines the most popular color every year. Only white remains unchanged.

White color is always in harmony with nature

Scandinavian style draws inspiration from nature in many ways. The white color resembles snowy landscapes and a clear sky. Creates a feeling of unity with nature. In combination with wood, stone, and linen, white creates true harmony, emphasizing natural texture and colors.

White color is universal and practical

It is easily combined with different textures and materials. But by itself, white looks very nice on different wall textures. A concrete wall or ceiling, painted in white, looks very modern and is simply executed.

A brick wall or roughly plastered white color creates a unique aesthetic texture. A smooth white wall will be visually smooth even with imperfections.

Some fear that white is too brandy. But it is not so. It is no more brand than any light color. And it is easily restored.

Shades of white

Of course, you don't need a cold white color in your interior. Scandinavian design is characterized by warm shades of white.

There is a special shade of Stockholmsvit (Stockholm white) - this is a warm shade of white that reveals itself differently under different lighting.

It can be either slightly gray or even yellowish. Yellow compensates for the blue of daylight, softening it, and gray mutes whiteness. White becomes warm and not so bright.

If you want to see Stockholm White live, come to our showroom. There is a lot of it

Which white to use is your choice. You can look for ready-made shades or play with the selection yourself.

Which white to use is your choice.

But if you decide to build your interior based on white, you will not regret it. It will always be comfortable, fresh, and fashionable.
